The Game Of Life
Life’s a game,
The stakes are high;
It’s your bet until you die.
The choice is yours –
salvation is free,
But if you lose –
Why gamble foolishly with your soul,
When sin just keeps on taking its toll?
Maybe it’s time for you to take stock:
Place your bet with Jesus Christ – the Rock –
He’s a sure win!
This poem was written very shortly after I trusted Jesus Christ for salvation (November 13th, 1992). Pretty simple poem, but it does make a strong point: What (or who) are you trusting in – in this life, and for eternity?
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
