The Shepherd Beckons
Baa Baa Black Sheep,
You’ve left the flock to roam;
But the Shepherd now is calling –
He wants to welcome you back home.
He has left the ninety and the nine.
To search and find the one;
Listen to our Saviour’s voice –
Don’t harden your heart and run.
Jesus came down from Heaven,
To seek and save that which was lost;
He was sacrificed for you –
For love comes with a heavy cost.
Though your wool is red like crimson,
He can remove the deepest stains;
He can throw your sins as far as east is from west,
Because His love always remains.
Oh my wandering little Black Sheep,
Before you wander out into the storm,
Remember, the only place of safety in this world,
Is when you are cradled in His arms.
He loves you dearly, my beloved Black Sheep;
You need never doubt that He cares;
Jesus is knocking softly at your heart’s door now,
But only you can invite Him there.

Luke 15:4-7 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and the nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, Saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, More than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Jesus is our Shepherd.
John 10:2-3 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
John 10:14-15 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.
Hebrews 13:20-21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
