Stand Fast
We look around at a world
That is changing day by day.
A little here, a little there,
Truth and Justice fade away.
We can’t condone these changes.
The churches must shine a while more.
We must learn to love the sinners
While our hearts are torn by war.
A battle between God’s Spirit
And the lawlessness of man.
While the Lord still extends His mercy,
The end must come as planned.
We must keep walking in the Spirit,
Holding forth the Word of Life,
And pray that they will hear it
Amidst the emptiness and strife.
Petitioning our Father
For the souls that come our way.
With our hearts in one accord,
Waiting for that coming Day.
As brethren in Christ Jesus,
We must firmly hold our ground.
Watching for our Lord’s return,
Praying a faithful remnant will be found.
Pleading for the Righteous Judge
To establish Justice once again,
Waiting for the Prince of Peace
To begin His endless reign.

2 Peter 3:9-13 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Psalm 85:9-12 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
For the sake of clarity and striving for the truth, I have removed the original second verse.
It is so easy to react,
To point our fingers and to judge,
But we must learn to forgive.
It only hurts us to hold a grudge.
In 1996, I meant something entirely different about not judging than the “Christian” world means today. We are not The Judge, but the Lord God has commanded all of us to judge all that we see around us, including teachings and actions, by the Word of God. This is how we learn to discern between truth and error, between the people of God and the lost, between true Bible preachers and teachers and false teachers and false brethren whose ultimate goal is to lead us astray from God and His Word.
1 Corinthians 2:14-15 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Hebrews 5:12-14 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
